Galvanized vs. Powder Coated

1. Galvanized (Silver)
- Description: Classic silver finish. The thick zinc coating (hot-dip galvanized) provides industry-leading protection against rust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
- Best For: Standard galvanized chain link fences and budget-conscious projects requiring maximum longevity.
2. Powder Coated (Black & Colour)
- Description: Galvanized steel fittings that are finished with an electrostatic polyester powder coat. This results in a smooth, durable, and coloured surface that is highly resistant to chipping, fading, and corrosion.
- Best For: PVC Vinyl Coated Fences (Black, Green, Brown). They blend seamlessly with the coloured fabric and provide a sleek, premium look. Black is the most popular choice for modern fencing.
Choosing the Correct Size (Post OD is Key!)
Fittings are highly dependent on post size. Unlike wood fencing, chain link fittings must precisely match the Outside Diameter (OD) of the steel pipe they are attaching to.
Crucial Sizing Tip:
If your fence uses a 2-3/8" OD terminal post, you must use fittings labelled 2-3/8". If you are unsure of your post size, measure the distance across the outside of the pipe to confirm the OD.
